Fluere Rings in the New Year at Jimmy’s Jazz Club
Fluere was thrilled to be hired to perform, teach, and engage with guests at Jimmy’s Jazz Club, a spectacularly restored Portsmouth landmark, to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
New Year’s Eve at Jimmy’s with Eddie Palmieri & La Perfecta Big Band
The lavish, black-tie affair featured filet mignon and lobster tails for dinner, world-renowned Latin big band, Eddie Palmieri & La Perfecta, and a champagne toast at midnight.

Eddie Palmieri
Known as one of the finest pianists of the past 60 years, 8-time Grammy Award-Winner and 14-time Grammy-Award Nominated Pianist and Composer Eddie Palmieri is a bandleader, arranger, and composer of salsa and Latin jazz. His playing skillfully fuses the rhythm of his Puerto Rican heritage with the complexity of his jazz influences.
Salsa on2 Performance
The Fluere Salsa on2 team performed their 2022 piece Mi Gente. After the ladies-only piece, the gentlemen of Fluere joined them on the dance floor to present social dance demos of Bachata and Salsa so that guests could see what authentic (but advanced!) social dancing looks like.
Group Beginner Salsa & Cha Cha Lesson
During the band’s set break Fluere Founder, Nina El Badry, got everyone up out of their seats to learn a beginning Salsa and beginner Cha Cha lesson to help everyone feel comfortable on the dance floor. The Fluere team was spread out among the crowd to make sure everyone could see and get the most out of the dance lesson.
Engaging with Guests
The Fluere team invited guests to dance, started a fun congo line, and made sure every guest felt included and had a wonderful time.
